FAQ
Grace Harbor is a welcoming and warm church. We hope you'll feel comfortable and loved in our midst. Check out the questions below to find helpful answers about our congregation and life together.
We are located at 811 Gorham Ln. in the Westwood Neighborhood on the westside of Kalamazoo, MI, just north of W. Main St.
In-person worship is at 10:00 A.M. every Sunday morning. Our online worshiping community meets "live" @ 10:00a on our facebook page - www.facebook.com/seektheharbor/live
The main worship entrance is in the west parking lot (in the back). There is a ramp and a set of steps to meet your needs. You'll be met by our friendly greeters, who can help you register your kids, guide you to our Sanctuary, and answer any questions you may have.
Absolutely! we offer age-level ministry and learning for your kids and teens every Sunday of the month. On the first Sunday of each month our children are with adults in worship for the first 15 minutes before going to their learning group. Our greeters will direct you to Harbor Kids (directly across the lobby from the Sanctuary) or to SURGE Youth in the south hallway on the main floor. They will have a blast learning about Jesus while you enjoy the worship service.. A nursery (age 0-2) and a preschool class is available for little ones, as well.
Park in the west parking lot closest to the main worship entrance (in the back of the church). There is also overflow parking on the south side, if needed. Follow the signs at each entrance. If you "plan your experience" with us, there will be a special parking space for you on your first visit!!
Most people dress casually. Jeans are fine. Some participants prefer to dress up a little more. It's up to you. We want you to feel comfortable and ready to grow in our gatherings!
The service will generally last 60-65 minutes.
Yes! Your teens will love SURGE Youth ministry. Everything they do is meant to help them learn to Sharing Unending Revolutionary Generosity (like Jesus) with Everyone. SURGE meets every Sunday of the month during worship. It's a blast, very engaging and creative in learning. On the first Sunday of each month, our teenagers serve in worship technology, greeting or ushering, security, and worship team, or participate with their parents in worship.
Yes. Your chldren's safety is a high priority for us. Each classroom has agreements with their students to care for and keep each other safe. Our teachers and assistants are trained in TBRI (trust based relational intervention) strategies to care for your child's needs. Each worker has completed a background check in order to serve our kids. The hallways and rooms in the HARBOR KIDS and SURGE learning areas are video-monitored, checked by ushers and security personnel every time they meet. You can rest assured that we will take good care of your family.
